Feb 9, 2017 - Keep holding the power button until the printer begins to reset itself. Could you please help me to reset Canon Pixma G4000 printer.

Now you can release the on/off putton. The green power light will go off and the yellow Alarm light will stay on.

Now you can run MPTOOL and resetting the ink counters will work. Your printer will show up as 'another' Cannon printer. When you finish you must again unplug the power cord for a moment and then just plug it back in. After you do this, you'll see both printers listed in Printers (controll panel) and one will show as offline. You can then rename this offline printer as 'Low Mode Canon' or whatever works for you so you don't mix it up with other functions. The mptool is said to have worked on the MP150 by danlcc in another forum. I've reset everything with mptool, but still when returning the printer to normal mode I get the error E5 message. If I run mptool again, I still get 100% on all cartridges. If I read the MP150 eeprom with mptool I get a small file of 512 bytes consisting of a single repeated datum. This is obviously not the printer's firmwear.

Maybe there's a communication problem between mptool and the printer. Any suggestions?
