Importantly, the effort gave us a glimpse of what to expect with the “Familia” album. This is because the album wouldn’t have even seen the light of day had the group gone through with their idea of breaking up four months ago. The reason being niggling misunderstandings from over the years but which the group had sought to sweep under the carpet without thoroughly addressing it. Fortunately, Mi Casa chose to come to the table like a family, sought out their differences and bless music fans with their best effort yet. Not just that, they also hope by showing their own act of hardships and forgiveness, families can learn to wade through stormy waters, battle challenges and importantly, stay together. The “Familia” album is an 8-track project and it features a fusion of elements including salsa and African samples.
